About

I am the natural areas project manager and I support stewardship staff, arborists and university partners to better respond to ecological and safety concerns in our natural areas. A stewardship crew team member for over six years, I currently develop and lead programs that maintain the integrity, and improve the accessibility and safety, of our natural areas. Among them: the Cornell University Deer Management Program, ash abatement, gorge safety, and native plant restoration. To do this I: administer more than 5,600 acres and 500 hunters in the Cornell University Deer Management Program; manage and create website content; work collaboratively with university stakeholders to coordinate projects and facilitate information sharing; and develop gorge safety monitoring programs for iconic campus natural areas.

Through our strategic planning and rebranding processes I took a leadership role on our Strategic Planning Committee, and I continue to support this process, coordinating professional development opportunities for staff to improve literacy in biocultural conservation.

I am a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. I have master’s and bachelor’s degrees in natural resources focusing on program development and management. Away from work, I chair the Town of Ithaca Conservation Board. My work is important to me because vibrant and accessible natural areas are important for everyone.
