About

My responsibility since 2000 as the plant records specialist at Cornell Botanic Gardens is to manage pertinent information about the plants in our collection. This includes accessioning new specimens and maintaining data about them once they are in our collection. We have just started using a new plant-records database with mapping capabilities. This database helps me to share information about the plants in our collections broadly, making our knowledge more accessible to researchers and the public. Field checking the plants in the collections, making maps, and sharing data are my favorite parts of the job.
